Only those Sri Lankan citizens who satisfy the following terms and conditions may apply for / obtain financial assistance.
- Submitting the application within 60 days from the date of discharge from the hospital after surgery/treatment (inclusive of weekends and public holidays).
- Monthly income of the family including the patient, spouse and unmarried children not exceeding the limit of Rs.200, 000/-. (This may effective from 01.01.2024)
- A member of the family including the patient, spouse and unmarried children being not an income tax payee
- Not being eligible to obtain an amount equivalent to 50% or more of the total cost incurred for the surgery/treatment from any other institution whatsoever (Insurance Cover/Medical Scheme/Welfare Scheme)
- Recommendation required from the Divisional Secretary
- The family of the patient not having adequate financial resources to meet the cost of the surgery/treatment
- Surgery/ treatment being done in a hospital approved by the President’s Fund
- Being a disease for which financial assistance is granted by the President’s Fund
- Not being able to obtain maximum financial assistance approved by the President’s Fund
- Not providing false information in the application
